Shipping & Returns

1) Typical Delivery Times and Cost

a) Shipping both within Australia and overseas is typically via Australia Post, in order to minimise the cost to our customers.
b) Typical delivery times and costs are:

Express Post “Next-Day” delivery to most parts of Australia AUD 15.00
Priority Post 2 – 3 day delivery to most parts of Australia AUD 7.50
Standard Post 5 – 7 day delivery to most parts of Australia AUD 6.90
Standard
International Post
6 – 10 days to most international addresses AUD 6.90 – AUD 9.90 (small / large: depends upon size & weight)

c) These typical delivery times are based on our experience over a 6-month period of time.

Yes – this means that can be quicker to deliver to an international address than a local Australian address

2) Notes on Local Shipping

a) Shipping both within Australia and overseas is typically via Australia Post.
b) Australia Post previously offered “overnight shipping” to most parts of Australia … and usually did delivery within 1-2 days to most parts of Australia
c) You could however pay extra for ‘Express Post’ to *ensure* that it was in fact “next-day delivery”
d) Earlier in 2016 AusPost introduced a so-called “2-Tier” delivery system.
As part of this, they doubled standard letter costs from $0.70 / $1.00 to $1.40 / $2.00 and altered ‘estimated’ delivery times.
e) Our experience now is that there is a 3-Tier system that provides the following levels of service:

Pay for: Service allegedly provided Our experience thus far indicates this means
Express Post “next-day delivery” to most parts of Australia ‘to Capital Cities & Suburbs’, not Country or Tasmania
PRIORITY (pay extra $0.50) 2-day delivery to most parts of Australia 2-3 business days to deliver (ie don’t count weekends!)
Standard Postage 2 – 3 day delivery to most parts of Australia 3-7 business days to deliver (ie don’t count weekends!)

f) We have also confirmed that it makes a BIG difference to delivery times how we send Express Post and Priority Post items:

Placed in local mailbox Add 1-2 days to the delivery time
Handed over the counter, in person, at a Post Office … before their internal ‘closing time’: As per nominal delivery time
For our local Post Offices, one has an internal ‘closing time’ of 5:00pm M-F, the 2nd is 3:30pm and the 3rd is ???
(And, of course, the one with 5:00pm closing is the one furthest away at 10 – 15 min travel time each way)

g) And whilst AusPost provide Tracking for some services, this only starts at a Post Office, not at mail-box collection or sorting centres.
Therefore mail posted via a street-side mail box is not tracked until it reaches the local delivery Post Office.

3) Notes on Overseas Shipping

a) Shipping both within Australia and overseas is typically via Australia Post.
b) Australia Post does offer “tracking” for shipments overseas … at a quite significant cost!
